All About Dulcimer

Are you fond of playing musical instruments? Are you enjoying the sound of every note that you have made? Well you are gifted for having the God given talent that not everyone has. If you are the type of person that loves to play the instrument that has strings then most probably you have heard things about the dulcimer. How does it looks like, main types of it abercrombie outlet , how it is being played and what are its features in general observations.
The latter mentioned instrument is a stringed musical instrument that usually has three to four strings. Its body often looks like an hour glass. A small bit of history, it is believed that it was brought from Scotland or Ireland and then used in the US as a musical instrument in small gatherings usually because of its sound is suited for such event. It is usually played as placed in the lap of the musician and uses both hands to control the sounds and the notes of the instrument. One hand is used to fret the notes in the fingerboard and the other hand is used to pluck the strings. The three traditional strings are the melody, middle and the bass.
There are actually two main types of this kind of musical instrument. These are the hammered and the mountain. Hammered dulcimer is a type where most of them are trapezoidal in shape and is played with two wooden hammers. These hammers have the length similar to a spoon and are made of wood and strikes to the strings that cause them to vibrate. Next type is the mountain dulcimer which has a narrow body and is played by plucking the strings which are stretched over the frets. To enhance the volume of the sound, it is better to strung it two times for a better an enhanced volume. A typical type of this instrument has a single neck and fingerboard. But there is a variation wherein there are two necks and two fingerboards that is meant to be played by two people.
It is good to play an instrument with a companion. There are more modern types of this musical instrument, but it doesn’t matter anyway, right? What is important is that you are enjoying what you are playing and the sound is still the same.
