Half Marathon Training Program

Have you ever dreamed of completing a half marathon? You're not alone! Thousands of people each year decide to take the challenge, and most of them have never run a step in their lives before! With proper maintenance and guidance, anyone can reach their goal of making it to a half marathon finish line.

Full Circle FITNESS Half Marathon Training program is a 15 week training program designed to get YOU to the finish line, injury-free. The program is designed to give you the knowledge and experience required to not only reach a half marathon finish line, but to also make running or walking or run/walking a part of your lifestyle. During your training, you will become stronger, both physically and mentally and the benefits will carry over into all aspects of your life.

Whether you are a walker, casual jogger, experienced runner, this program is for YOU! Are you ready for the challenge?

Half Marathon Training Program
The 13.1 mile half marathon is a highly respected race among endurance athletes. The physiology of the half marathon is straightforward - it is a test of stamina. The keys to a successful half marathon are to begin with a well-structured training plan that properly incorporates your abilities and goals, and to follow the plan with consistency.

This program is appropriate for those who wish to walk, run/walk, or run the half marathon. Do NOT fear! Three months is plenty of time for novice athletes to prepare their minds and bodies to complete a half marathon. Remember, endurance athletes aren't made overnight. People become half marathoners with intelligent, consistent training.

The 15 week comprehensive program will kick off in January at S.T.E.P.S. inc (located at 2424 21st Avenue South, Nashville, TN).

We'll meet for 20-30 minutes for orientation/answer questions, stretch and complete a brief 3 mile course.

Program Includes:

  • One coached "long run" each week with a short 5-10 minute seminar beforehand (topics include proper shoes, stretching, injuries, nutrition, etc)
  • 14 week written training program
  • Water, food, and maps are provided at each long run
  • Performance t-shirt
  • Post-race party!
  • Support - a chance to meet new people who are taking the 13.1 mile challenge!

PREREQUISITE FOR ENROLLING:
We ask that all participants be comfortable covering a 3 mile distance either walking, run/walking, or running, regardless of pace.
